Skills testing (the road test) is offered through our school by appointment.  We test any student who has never before held a drivers license (per SC DMV regulations). Applicants do not have to complete training with our school in order to take the road test with us. We can test anyone who has never been licensed before, regardless of whether or not they complete training with us. In order to test, the person taking the test must have a valid South Carolina beginner’s permit that they have held for longer than 180 days (DMV regulations).

SC DMV Approved Driving/Road Test
Since 2012, Greenville Driving School has been licensed and approved as a Third Party Tester school. The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles has determined that we are able to administer the road test to students. For this service, students will be taken on an SC DMV-approved route and allowed to complete the road test. If the student passes, they will receive a certificate which will be taken to a DMV field office, where the student will complete an eye exam, take a license picture, and the student’s license will be printed.

The cost for the road test service will be $60.00, payable the date the road test is administered. It is not required for students to complete the road test through our school, as the SC DMV will still be administering the road test daily during the week. For students who have difficulty getting to the DMV during normal business hours, we offer test administration on weekends. All tests administered through our school are done in our vehicles, with our instructors.

If you want to take the road test through our school and use our vehicle (the UNFAIR ADVANTAGE), email us using the form on the Contact page, and specify the “Road Test” in the message section of the form, include your full name as printed on the permit, your permit number, contact phone number and the city you wish to test in. Once we have this information, we will call you to schedule your test at a date that is convenient to you.

The UNFAIR ADVANTAGE
The Unfair Advantage is just what it says. The vehicles that we use for training and testing have been selected on purpose to give the student the easiest way to maneuver a test car into and out of the parallel parking spot. The high position of the driver, large rear window, no rear trunk and very short wheelbase make our vehicles the easiest to take the road test in, the easiest way to pass your road test.

No other driving school has a vehicle that performs better on the road test. We know, we have tried them all.

We can move all the way up to the back barricade of the parking area, leaving plenty of space in front of us to pull forward to the middle without receiving any penalties during the test.

Just look over your shoulder through the back window, you can back our  training and testing vehicle all the way op to the barricade, with the high seat position of the driver, the rear seats folded flat and the huge back window its very easy to back in without hitting the barricade. There is no trunk on this vehicle. Other driving school vehicles have trunks and you cannot see where the back end of the vehicle is. Remember if you touch the barricade you fail the test. This is the unfair advantage of choosing

Setting up a road test.
